English – The Slow Death of our Native Tongue
By Stephen Xavier, Managing Editor, Life on the Right
Mar 19, 2007

Fellow Americans,

Below is an important link I need you to pass on to your email lists. It is a link to US English, Inc., an organization dedicated to making English the official language of the United States of America ... Before it is too late.

To me, and a growing number of Americans, there is a terrible irony at play here; the Lefties - “ultra-inclusionists” - have fought for decades to stop every English-only bill in Washington and fought equally as hard against any form of “assimilation” for immigrants coming to this country. The irony – they now fight for a “multi-lingual/multi-cultural” environment that includes every language and culture but our own!

Where they fought so hard to stop English-only, they now fight aggressively to add Spanish (and other languages as well) to everything. Go to any hardware store in America, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, OSH and others. There is not an aisle free of multi-language signs and to the Left, this is a victory. To Americans like me, it is a travesty. Walk through your local chain grocery store and pick up virtually any product on an aisle. Virtually all are in English and Spanish. During a recent visit to a Vons store, a large California based grocery chain, I bought diapers for my son. I had to spin the package around several times to FIND English. Something is very wrong with that picture.

As a descendent of immigrants myself, LEGAL immigrants, I grew up watching my grand-parents and a great-grand-parent who was still alive in my youth, toil at two and even three jobs each to support their family, buy a home, pay their taxes and when ready, to bring remaining family members here legally so that they too could start a new and prosperous life. The worked all day and into the night. In their “free time” ... They learned English, learned about the new culture they lived in and loved and in turn, taught their children and grandchildren those same values of what a great country America is and how fortunate we were to have the privilege of living here. We assimilated and life was good. We prospered, slowly, but steadily improving the quality of our lives. We lived “on the radar”, not under it, we never lost our religion, culture or language. It stayed alive in our homes and our neighborhoods and life was good.

Somehow, we have lost this drive to preserve what has been here for centuries in exchange for something else that is not ours. The cost of that loss of language and culture is enormous both in economic terms and in terms of the loss of our Nation’s very spirit. We are slowly being forced to become something else due, in great part, to the staggering influence of millions of people who, let’s be honest here, came here illegally and don’t even belong here.

Please go to this link, find the section where you can have letters and/or emails sent to your Reps in Washington and send a clear message – English IS the official language of America. It has since well before the official founding of this great nation and should remain as such.

God Bless America. Watch over and protect us Lord, from ourselves.

Thanks & regards,
